With any language version of Acrobat Reader 4.0 and 5.0, you can
display Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files that contain
text in Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Japanese, and Korean
(CJK), if the author of a PDF file embeds these fonts into the document.
Any language version of Reader 4.0 or 5.0 will be able to display
the CJK text on any system without additional software; however,
if the author uses CJK fonts but does not embed them in the document,
then you will need access to the correct Asian fonts in order to
view the PDF file on non-native systems. All you need to do is install
the appropriate Asian font pack for use with Acrobat Reader. The
Japanese Font Pack software may not be freely redistributed. Copies
of this software may be obtained by registering at the Adobe web
site at: http://www.adobe.com/ or http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/acrwin.htm
And all language readers (individual downloads) are at: http://www.adobe.com/p
If you have a FULL VERSION of the Adobe Acrobat PDF creation software,
the Asian front packs need to be installed from the original installation
disc. This is not an automatic function, and must be added to the
program.
